The DME SHOPPE originally began in Naperville, Illinois in 1980 and the success of that venture prompted the owners to open a similar business in Fort Myers, Florida in 1987. In 1990, the employees purchased the Ft. Myers company and to this day it is owned and operated locally.

Our "Wall of Fame" shows our dedication and proof that we support and present more, continuing education programs than any other medical equipment company in Southwest Florida.

We specialize in the evaluation, design, and production of custom wheelchairs and seating systems for pediatric and adult clients.

In the past 10 years, home accessibility products have become an important and growing segment of our company.

Our staff, which includes a CTRS, ATS, and LPN, has a combined 55+ years of experience in rehab technology.

Currently we are participating providers of Florida Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida The SouthCare Network, and Homelink. We bill all insurance companies and Medicare when possible. Watch for updates to this list as new carriers are added.
